Every High Country News subscriber — no matter how long you’ve been with us or how you initially subscribed — can log in to an online account dashboard to manage your subscription directly.

How to log in to your online account
Option A: You have never logged in to an account on hcn.org before
If you have not previously activated the online access included in your subscription by submitting an email and setting a password, start here.
1. Click the log in button
2. In the log in window, enter your customer ID as your username and your mailing postal code preceded by the # sign as your password. For example, a username of 123456 and a password of #81428.
Your customer ID can be found just above your mailing address on the back of your print issue.
3. Follow the prompts to submit an email address and reset your password. (The window does not automatically close when the reset process is complete. That doesn’t mean the process didn’t work. Test your new login if you’re concerned before starting the reset process again.)
4. Congrats! You’ve successfully logged in to your High Country News account.

Option B: You have previously logged in with an email address
All user accounts that previously activated online access are associated with the email used in the activation process. (Look for old renewal emails if you’re unsure of which email you used.) However, your previous password will not work.
1. You can use our passwordless login feature to be sent an email with a link that will give you immediate access to your account.
2. You can then reset your password via the Change password option under My profile in your account dashboard. Your current password will be the postal code associated with your account preceded by the # symbol, such as #81428.
You may also use that password formula to log directly into your account with your email.
3. Congrats! You’ve successfully logged in to your High Country News account.

Passwordless login
The passwordless login feature gives you direct access to your account without needing to know your password.
How it works
1. Click the passwordless login button
2. Enter the email address associated with your account
3. Check your inbox for an email containing your login link
4. Click the link, which will take you back to the website and log you in to your account
